The Lancet Psychiatry study, significantly found, that aerobic and gym training, promoted positive mental health in participants. The majority of child behaviour specialists agree that teens, with behavioural problems, especially those related to attention deficit or defiance disorders, positively respond to a regular exercise regime. The right exercise program can teach these adolescents, to set goals, and obtain them, through consistency and hard work. It can teach the child, or young adult, to focus, and give them an outlet for stress and other aggressive emotions. Being in a gym environment can instill cooperation skills, whilst training with others. In girls and boys, working out can build self-esteem, and help them look and feel better about themselves. This in turn can teach them to avoid crazy diets and avoid eating disorders.
