Rob White

Mentoring Ltd

About

Rob has built a solid career in Close Protection Security for most of his adult life. He has been established in the local community, and respectfully, also embedded in the boxing community. It was here, where Rob encountered youths, that were in a subconscious search for support, discipline, and positive role models.

He was sometimes approached by parents of troubled youths, who knew of his high standing in the community and asked for his guidance and support.

In the past, Rob himself, financed day trips, shopping trips, hair appointments, etc, for the young adults that he had been entrusted with. Often Rob would be called upon to diffuse potentially violent situations, where a young person was acting aggressively, warranting Police intervention. Rob would advocate for the young person and their family members, and regularly be able to seek a positive resolution.
Rob’s approach towards mentoring, has emerged out of several personal, and historical sources, and attachment and trauma formed. Together with his lived experiences, professional practice, training, and research, they demonstrate his commitment to empowering the next generation to be the very best that they can be. His qualifications include certifications in Managing Challenging Behaviours, Self Harm, Suicide Prevention,  CPD in Knife Crime Awareness & DDP levels 1 and 2.

Rob has also pledged to direct his attention, and support to young people with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, or any disorder that results in a deficit of social interaction or ability. A formal diagnosis is not always required, as in previous experience, Rob has unfortunately witnessed cases, whereby the young person, has slipped through the net of formal diagnosis, purely due to lack of cooperation by the child.

Rob has always recognised that sometimes non-compliance in itself can be a symptom of a neurodevelopmental disorder.
