Rob White Founder - RWM

The Company Founder, Mr. Robert White, found his calling to become a mentor.
Through donating his free time to taking youths under his wing, it became clear that some needed a strong yet positive role model in their lives.

As a parent himself, Rob empathises with the notion that “it takes a village to raise a child”.He has birthed Rob White Mentoring Ltd, with this very ethos at heart.

Rob White Mentoring Ltd (RWM) is a Northampton-based, non-profit mentoring organisation, that is rooted in local communities. Working in partnership with local authorities and community groups, with sometimes limited resources in sectors and areas, we offer support to young people to grow in character and confidence, sparking positive changes in themselves and society.

Rob has devoted hundreds of hours investing in educating himself through training courses and gaining the relevant qualifications, in order to fully understand the complexities and the diligence it takes to be a fully involved mentor to vulnerable children and young adults. He has pledged to dedicate himself, to providing a safe place for his mentees for the rest of his career.
RWM offers a unique holistic therapy package, which has great results for helping suicide prevention, depression, self-harming, mental health issues, anxiety, and much more.

Overview

Vision

Our vision at RWM, is to provide nurturing and worthwhile services to vulnerable young people, in a wide variety of locations and settings.

We see so much potential, in giving each child or young adult, access to nature, arts, sports, therapeutic programs, and tailored educational support.

We want to help them explore and seek that certain “key” that will fit the “lock” to open the door to a whole world of possibilities for them. We will be their mentors, sounding boards, their biggest challenger, and always their biggest fan!

Mission

RWM has an emphatic objective, to provide a supportive network for each child, and to improve and support their mental, physical, and emotional well-being. We intend to improve their life opportunities and empower them to fully understand their unlimited potential. We propose to devote our time and skills, to reduce the feelings of isolation and loneliness, that in our experience, the majority of vulnerable young people experience, which often has a knock-on effect on their behaviours, and self worth.

RWM have committed themselves, to prove to each young person, that they have a voice. Their feelings and emotions are valid. We aspire to engrain self-respect into each and every child so that they can understand the value of positive reinforcement, and with this, they will understand the importance of being a positive member of society.

Support & Encouragement

Personal Support

Rob White Mentoring, is the provision of personal support, assistance, encouragement, and inspiration to its Mentees, to grow and develop into law-abiding citizens, contributing to their communities, and to be prepared to either, continue with education, join gainful employment, and develop possible careers.

RWM founder, Robert White, has a specific career, and long-term goals, for each young person, who receives support through his Mentorship.  His objective is, to utilise a broad spectrum, of local business owners, and tradespeople that Robert has personally established relationships with over many years, that are sympathetic, to the challenges that some young people face in life, that can hamper their self-confidence, when it comes to believing they are worthy of employment.
With these special partnerships, RWM has formed avenues, for young Mentees to be given career advice and guidance, in perspective career path opportunities, within local communities.

Employment Candidates

Through these initial channels, RWM has gone on to match Mentees, with local businesses, that have provided employment placements, for the right candidates, giving the Mentees a whole new perspective, on their personal growth, and self-worth.

RWM is able to follow the progression of the Mentee, throughout their employment, and can provide support for the young person, during this time of transition.

RWM also has the belief that aiding a young person, to set their own personal goals, is vital throughout the mentoring journey.
Providing the Mentees with the tools to learn, about their own capabilities and interests, and to adapt this acquired knowledge of themselves, will assist them in deciding the right career path, and this is an important milestone in their development.

Being employed builds independence. It teaches the Mentee responsibility and accountability.  It gives a clear lesson of cause and effect, for example, hard work, brings financial reward.  The potential for the Mentee to earn a fair wage can also help develop money-managing skills, within the guidance of the mentorship.

Culture

Diversity

Systemic and growing inequality manifests as gaps in opportunity, networks, and access to adult relationships, outside of families.

Our Mentoring Service will unite us. We are a key response to these issues. RWM will provide a diverse company culture, and Mentorship to young people, regardless of Race, Sex, Religion, Gender, or Disability.

We embrace our differences, and celebrate our common humanity, in advancing awareness, of the need for a transformative power, of supportive relationships for our young people.

We believe that varied perspectives, experiences, and opinions, are central assets in our mission to close the mentoring gap.

Transparency

Transparency is a cousin to authenticity.

We as mentors must lift our veil first, in order to fully be open and trusted.

Our Mentees must trust, that we are being open and honest with them. They must be shown that we as mentors, are also human beings.

We must be fully transparent with our young people, in order to open the door to deal with complex issues they might be facing or experiencing. With this in mind though, our mentors understand the difference between oversharing and respecting boundaries.

Our primary objective is to purely create a healthy bond of trust between Mentor and Mentee.

Testimonials

Charley Northampton

“Rob White has supported me for the last few months in a work manner, after the advice to use Rob White Mentoring Limited. I was diagnosed at the age of 27 with ADHD and my usual job as a nail technician, was struggling after not only Covid but my anxiety about being face to face with people. I contacted Rob White about some work last year and he has got me some cleaning contracts for a local legal firm plus some more domestic cleans. I’m happier working this way as I can manage my time better, and make my family/home life better. The support from RWM has not only benefited me but also allows me to splurge on my 12-year-old daughter who was diagnosed with ADHD and ASD in Autumn 2020.”

Bobbie Northampton

“Robert has been a huge support for me and my son who has ADHD. As a single parent, I have struggled to cope with a certain aspect of behavior that my son has displayed and have benefited greatly from having a strong male role model. Robert has gone above and beyond to connect with him and has the natural ability to engage with youngsters, encourage them to do well in school and at home, and make them feel worthwhile and supported, which are all things that can become difficult when family communications break down. The difference in my son’s attitude and his own well-being has noticeably improved and he is a much happier person, less volatile, and more respectful of himself and others With Roberts help and commitment, it was the stepping stone for us to build a closer relationship and to steer my son in the right direction. Any child that works with Robert will thrive under his kind, caring, compassionate nature. My child is one of those lucky ones”

Helen Northampton

“As a single mum of a mixed-heritage son with extreme challenging behaviours, Rob White came into our lives when there was nothing left, not even hope. A life well-lived is defined by what we contribute and few people exemplify this more than Rob. He took my son under his wing as if he were his own and his clever humour and wonderful heart won my son over immediately. The work Rob continues to do with my son has cemented his place in our hearts. He believes that so many challenges in society – crime, drugs, health and more would improve by very simple rules: treat everyone equally, use your voice and hands for good. Those of you who are privileged to be parents and who like me may be struggling, I ask and appeal to you today to reach out to this incredible man.”

Treatment Specialties

Leads By Example

For mentees who may otherwise be heading towards offending, RWM offers a number of preventative interventions which include the opportunities for prison visits. Most visits are delivered one-to-one designed to change the attitude, thinking and behaviour of the young person. The young person is able to engage with the prisoners and hear first-hand about the reality of prison life and the long-lasting consequences of making the wrong choices. There is good evidence that these are most effective with one young person stating following a visit “I couldn’t do one weekend in there Rob”

Payments

Short term and private consultations, will be charged per individual session, at the agreed rates.  Payments can be made with a debit or credit card.
